holding handsHungry for more great date ideas, are we? Yes, of course, there's more than just a few hot numbers in that little Blackberry of yours, isn't there? We understand, variety is the spice of life, after all! Allow us to help set your lover's loins aflame with a few more local date spot suggestions:

The Eclectic Date: It's a proven fact that dates love presents. While something from Abercrombie is pretty lame, Cartier may be a budget buster. No, my friend, you need something unique, just like your significant other (awww). Take them down for bit of perusal at the retro paradise known as The Future Antiques (T.F.A.). Filled with jewelry, housewares, furniture, paintings, records, clothes and other assorted goodies from the 50s, 60s and 70s, this shop will help you get in the groove. Think of how foxy your lady will look in those white vinyl go-go boots, or how suave your man will be in that Hugh Hefner style smoking jacket. Rawrr! Easy tiger, you still have to go to dinner.

the kind and iJust a few blocks away on South Grand, you can get exotic at The King and I, consistently chosen as one of the best Thai food restaurants in St. Louis. Prices are modest, décor is dated elegance and the wait staff are always eager to please. Your coldfish companion may quickly become too hot to handle, as they dine on fiery dishes like the curry-laden Angel of Thailand. Filled with succulent shrimp, calamari, mussels, crab meat, bell peppers and coconut milk, it's a dish that you'll want to lick clean. Just make sure you pop a few Mentos afterwards, kay?

Now you need to dance it all off. The perfect place for you two to get a little closer and sweat it out is just a skip away on South Grand at the Upstairs Lounge . This bar/dance club above Mekong restaurant is very intimate and extremely unpretentious. Every night of the week, they offer something different to dance to, giving every type of crowd a chance to pound the rickety dance floor. You might hear electro, tech, 80s and 90s, soul, house and a few Saturdays a month you get to experience London Calling, a club that offers the best hipster hits from across the pond. Whenever you wear out from shaking your thing, you can snuggle up close and sip drinks together in one of the stylish red booths. Go-go boots, curry and dancing? Nothing could be more romantic!

lemp mansionThe Shivers Down the Spine Date: For generations now, people have taken their dates to horror movies in the hopes that they will cling tightly to them during the scary parts, affording a chance to sneak in some quick nookie. This is a good technique. Now imagine using this technique at a real haunted house for a whole night. Lots of close comforting to do, am I right? Book a room at the Lemp Mansion , St. Louis' popular, spectrally infested bed and breakfast. Of brewery fame, several members of the Lemp family have committed suicide in the mansion, lending a bit of credence to the ghost claims. Built in the 1860s, it has lemp gardenbeen beautifully restored to it's former glory, although some of the best features, like the tunnel that runs under the house to the old Lemp brewery and a mysterious room sealed by a metal door, are closed to the public. A stay in the Lavender room, haunted by Lillian Lemp, is your best bet, because it has a private bathroom featuring a deep tub and vintage fireplace. You won't have cable to distract you here so you'll have to make your own fun, which shouldn't be a problem, right? The gardens and gazebo outside are beautiful and the chicken dinners, in the safari themed dining room on Sunday, are divine. If you're lucky, you may get the house all to yourself for an overnight stay and a chance at ghost hunting. If you can't stay overnight, the Lemp also offers Murder mystery dinners on Friday and Saturday nights for $48.95 per person. That may seem kind of steep, but taking into consideration that you'd spend that bank elsewhere on some overpriced sushi and snotty service, it's not that bad.

The Act Natural Date: Studies have shown that exercise improves the libido. So get your butts out there to Castlewood State Park in Ballwin and hike! You two can take a leisurely walk through the forest and up to the bluffs that overlook the winding Meremec river. You'll encounter ruins of old forts and plenty of wildlife. If you're feeling particularly robust, this park has some of the best mountain bike trails in the area. All that exercise is sure to leave you snackish, but not to worry, Castlewood has plenty of covered picnic areas and barbecue pits, so you can grill up some pork steaks. Have fun kids, but don't forget the bug spray. When you get home you can check each other for ticks. Caliente!
