First Night St. Louis 2009: KaleidoscopePosted by: Michelle Fairbrother on Dec 7, 2008 |
If you want something that offers a little bit of everything, the upcoming Kaleidoscope event in St. Louis will be perfect for you.
This New Years Eve, why not spend your night in Grand Center for First St. Louis and have one of the best nights of your life, partying with friends and family while ringing in the new year.
This is much more than a grand party, it is an artful event that will satisfy even the most particular tastes.
When they use the word kaleidoscope here they mean it literally, as there are more activities, colors, lights, musical entertainment acts and performances than you could possibly imagine, all bundled into one fantastic, fun-filled evening.
As Grand Center tells us:
We chose the theme of Kaleidoscope because by definition we feel it encompasses the true spirit and experience of First Night - "fragments that come together to form a beautiful whole perhaps indicating a diversity of something such as experience of piecing together the parts of a symbolic puzzle."
The festival hours are as follows:
- Opening ceremonies - 6:00 PM
- Performances - 6:00 PM to 11:30 PM
- Early fireworks - 9:00 PM
- Countdown to the New Year - begins at 11:30 PM
- Fireworks - 12:00 AM
The First Night experience will begin on Grand Boulevard near Lindell, and here you can walk through a 24-foot long kaleidoscope that is life-size, the perfect way to begin the night.
There will be an array of activities to entertain yourself with while waiting for the New Years countdown, so whether you want to check out one of the 75 different presentations, get your face painted or see one of the über talented drumming groups do their thing, boredom will certainly not be a problem here.
The festivities will be wondrous, the company joyous, and whether you are traveling in from out of town or a St. Louis native, this is one New Years Eve event that you are not going to want to miss out on.
